Artist Way: Week Eight
"Style Search: List twenty thing you like to do. Answer these questions for each of them".
In the interest of my time and yours (as well as the fact I don't think I can name twenty things), I'm just going to list ten. Cool? Cool.
1. Listen to Music
In the interest of my time and yours (as well as the fact I don't think I can name twenty things), I'm just going to list ten. Cool? Cool.
1. Listen to Music
Does it cost money or is it free? Sometimes it cost money, but because I am cheap, I only listen when it is free.
Expensive or Cheap? Even when you buy I think it's more or less cheap...but I guess it depends?
Alone or with somebody? Alone. I like to dance like an idiot in peace thank you.
Job-related? It's more fun when it's not.
Physical Risk? I mean I guess you can get to into and trip.
Fast Paced or Slow? Both. Often in succession
Mind, Body or Spiritual? A little of all three really. If it's it's a good song it'll get a physical reaction while also challenging your mind or filling your soul.
2. Read
Does it cost money or is it free? Also sometimes. Libraries are a gift but sometimes I can't wait or just want to revel in the feeling of owning a book.
Expensive or Cheap? Oh the cheaper the better. But alas, Capitalism.
Alone or with somebody? Reading alone, but I love talking books with other people.
Job-related? *conflicted I-don't know noise* I hate reading for school, but if it's interesting or relates to art it could be worth picking up
Physical Risk? ...No?
Fast Paced or Slow? I don't have a consistent reading pace.
Mind, Body or Spiritual?Definitely mind and spiritual. I don't think I have to explain why.
3. Write
Does it cost money or is it free? Free. Unless you count like, buying pens and paper. Which is generally pretty cheap.
Alone or with somebody? Alone (at least physically). Though I will concede, I like bouncing off ideas with other people.
Job-related? Unfortunately, yes. Or at least it will be.
Physical Risk? I guess you could stab yourself with a pencil but
Fast Paced or Slow? I would like to write fast, but my mind and body don't agree with me.
Mind, Body or Spiritual? All. Mind, Soul and Achy Hand.
4. Draw
Does it cost money or is it free? Like the above. No one will charge you for drawing but you need materials.
Expensive or Cheap? Depends, what brand and where am I buying it?
Alone or with somebody? Alone. Maybe occasionally with others but
Job-related? It could be. For the most part I'm not planning on making a career out of it.
Physical Risk? Toxic Paint, Do not Swallow? I don't know.
Fast Paced or Slow? No fast. No slow. Just. Art.
Mind, Body or Spiritual? See #3
5.Watch Movies
Does it cost money or is it free? Money. Tickets, DVDs, Netflix, Money.
Expensive or Cheap? Fairly cheap but money is still money.
Alone or with somebody? Either or, really.
Job-related? That would be an awesome job
Physical Risk? Only in America.
Fast Paced or Slow? I think most people prefer a fast paced movie to a slow one
Mind, Body or Spiritual? It's more mind and occasionally spiritual, if it's really good.
6.Watch TV Shows
Does it cost money or is it free? Money. Between DVDS, Netflix, and Cable bills...
Expensive or Cheap? DVDs and Netflix are cheap. But cable bills...
Alone or with somebody? Another either or, I like to talk through shows when I'm with someone.
Job-related? Please say that's a thing.
Physical Risk? I hope not?
Fast Paced or Slow? Again with film, but I like an seeing progression in tv shows because they have the luxury of time and it makes the journey more real.
Mind, Body or Spiritual? More mind and Spirit. The books we're reading for Content and Company talk about how the media you consume can influence your own art and-
7. Travel
Does it cost money or is it free? MONEY.
Expensive or Cheap? More often than not it's expensive.
Alone or with somebody? I have yet to travel on my own, but I would love to go on a trip with friends if the opportunity arose.
Job-related? I think I could pack up and go with minimal trouble if called to. Of course, I'm not there yet.
Physical Risk? Always. Unprepared diseases, transportation accidents, an number of regional problems-
Fast Paced or Slow? I'd like to take my time. Really absorb all my surroundings and the history behind them.
Mind, Body or Spiritual? All! Definitely. You have to physically remove yourself while also adjust mentally to the culture. As for your spirit...
8. Talk to Friends
Does it cost money or is it free? FREE. ALWAYS.
Alone or with somebody? Being with somebody is kind of required.
Job-related? Being friends with coworkers is nice. But not really required. And of course sometimes you have to work with people you dislike. But you always have friends outside of that.
Physical Risk? Accidents are always possible. Especially with my friends.
Fast Paced or Slow? ....?
Mind, Body or Spiritual? Yes.
9. Go to Festivals/Events
Does it cost money or is it free? Depends. Jamfest was free. The Rodeo by the Alamo was not.
Expensive or Cheap? See Above.
Alone or with somebody? Festivals are always more fun with friends.
Job-related? Working at Festivals/Events aren't usually as fun... but more often than not you walk away with some cool stories.
Physical Risk? There always is when dealing with people.
Fast Paced or Slow? ????
Mind, Body or Spiritual? I think a little of all three: once again you have to be willing to move around physically, but you also have to be fully engaged with what's going on.
10. Window Shop
Does it cost money or is it free? Mercifully, free
Alone or with somebody? Could be either
Job-related? I'm sure there's some kind of profession out there that involves this.
Physical Risk? Hopefully not. I can't imagine...
Fast Paced or Slow? How much time to do I have to do it?
Mind, Body or Spiritual? Mostly body and mind. You body to look through windows and your mind to not buy something.
