Artist Date: Origami

When I was little and a girl scout I somehow I got my hands on a book about origami. I adored it and was obsessed with paper folding for like a month, but the only thing I could really make was the rabbit. I figured since it's been so long since I've done that, I should revisit it. Who knows, maybe I'll even learn something new now that I'm older and better at following instructions.
Since literally no one is ever in the Centennial Lobby (and I mean absolutely no one) I headed down there with a bunch of paper confident that I would not be disturbed. And sure enough I wasn't. I got comfortable, put on headphones and looked up things to make out of paper.
I spend the first few minutes recreating that paper bunny, of which, for some reason, I remember the process exactly. Then, after wasting a solid 20 minutes trying and failing to make an owl, I instead turned my attention to making a turtle. Which was much more rewarding.
Behold, the fruit of my labors:

Despite the minor frustration, just sorta sitting there and doing nothing but folding paper was really relaxing. Definitely something to repeat.
